Disney's copyright wars have been in fact going on for years. One of the first to feel their wrath was Dan O'Neil, a comic artist who lifted Mickey and his crew into his 60's underground comic Air Pirates. After being sued, O'Neil formed the "Mouse Liberation Front" and fought Disney for years, claiming he had a constitutional free speach right to draw the comics.
